Workflow steps

1. Review isometric / line list / MTR requirements
2. Verify instrument calibration and check samples

3. Clean test surface (remove paint, scale if policy allows)

4. Select alloy mode and collimator size

5. Measure — capture GPS, photo, and timestamp

6. Compare to spec — Grade ID or element limits

7. Flag failures and escalate to lab if needed

8. Export PDF report with operator ID

- Always record where on the component you tested
- For welds, test parent metal and HAZ separately
