What is XRF and How Does It Work?

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is a non-destructive analytical technique that identifies and quantifies elements in a sample.

When the tube emits X-rays onto a sample, inner-shell electrons are displaced and fluorescent X-rays are emitted. Each element produces a characteristic energy signature — the spectrum you see in Specelex software.

Portable XRF brings this capability to the field: incoming inspection docks, plant floors, mining sites, and recycling yards. Results in seconds mean faster decisions without cutting samples or waiting for lab turnaround.
