Which Specelex model should I choose?
Pro for alloy and RoHS. Max for mining, soil, and multi-industry use. Ultra for the best detection limits and premium SDD performance.
What is the element range for each model?
Pro covers 22–92 elements. Max covers 12–92. Ultra covers 11–92 with the best light-element performance.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 12 hours of typical field use on a full charge, depending on measurement frequency and ambient temperature.

Can Specelex identify 304 and 316 stainless steel?
Yes. Grade ID can differentiate 304 and 316 in about one second based on Cr, Ni, and Mo content.
Is portable XRF suitable for mining exploration?
Yes. Max and Ultra are designed for pathfinder screening, core logging, and soil grids. Confirm critical samples with lab assays.
Can I use Specelex for RoHS compliance?
Yes. All models support RoHS screening for Pb, Cd, Hg, Br, and Cr in components and assemblies.

What sample types can portable XRF handle in a university lab?
Solids and powders with flat surfaces work best — alloys, soils, rocks, ceramics, and metals. Liquids require special sample cups; very light elements (e.g. C, O) are not detectable.
